Carrier Battle: Philippine Sea

Solitaire simulation of the largest carrier battle in history, fought during the invasion of Saipan in June 1944. As the U.S. commander, maneuver task forces, conduct air searches, and locate Japanese carriers before they find and attack yours. Simple systems control Japanese movement and determine the timing and strength of enemy air strikes, which are revealed when detected by radar. Nine scenarios include four learning games and five full-scale, replayable scenarios covering individual days, the entire battle, and hypothetical alternate histories.
