Players take the roles of Spirits aligned with two opposing forces that vie to shape a person’s mind, represented as a vibrant fantasy realm. They summon, move, empower and evolve Emotions—the game’s units—to control Regions and Frontiers and steer the world toward Bliss or Gloom. Play unfolds as a team-based area-control struggle for 1–6 players with solo and cooperative options. Key moments called Revelations freeze parts of the board as permanent fragments of the Identity, and timing and coordination with allies determine when to provoke those evaluations. This edition consolidates the full experience with additional modules, extra Spirit components, upgraded pieces and custom materials.
