Chocoly

2011 · Abstract Strategy

Chocoly

Players act as confectioners placing 2×2 tiles of chocolate squares onto a shared board to build the largest continuous area of their color. Each tile contains two or three types of chocolate (dark, milk, white), and players maintain a hand of four tiles drawn from a common pool. Wooden smarties sit on the board and affect placement: they can allow or block a second layer of tiles and thus create or sever connections between chocolate regions. With three players all colors are active; with two or four players a neutral color can be surrounded and scored by the player or team with the most adjacent contact.
