2021 · Card Game
Dog Lover
Players rescue dogs from a shelter, gather supplies, and train pets to score points. On a turn, a player selects and—orients a trick card, then takes cards from a 3×3 grid that match the trick’s pattern, with one row or column constrained by a watchdog token. Collected cards serve different roles: dogs sit in front of the player, food is converted to specific types, adoption cards can be traded for rescued dogs with powers, traits grant ongoing abilities (but must be attached immediately), and various tuckable cards (training, walks, toys) provide bonuses when placed under dogs. The game ends when an end-game card appears; players score dogs only if each dog’s food requirement is met, otherwise the dog penalizes the player.

Taha Afyouni6.5 A great successor to Cat Lady. My favorite new mechanism are the 'tricks' that change how you draft cards.
