2005 · Card Game
Dynasty
A card and board game based on trump taking. The cards are comprised of six suits. When the game begins all suits are of equal value. The player who lays out the highest number takes the hand and then moves their pawn one space forward on the game board. Every fifth or so space is marked "Dynasty" and a player landing on this space may select one of the trump tokens to place at the lowest possible space on the "trump track", in the center of the board. As the suits are added to the track, the order in which suits may trump each other follows. For instance, the first placed (and therefore lowest on the track) suit is jesters. Jesters can trump all cards. The next placed suit (set above jesters on the track) is kings. Jesters will still trump all cards but kings, kings trump all cards. If a player lands on a "dynasty" spot and all six suits have been set, they may swap two suits. Game ends when one player has traversed the entire board.
