1999 · Abstract Strategy
Eclipse
An abstract two-player strategy game played on an oblong hex grid with holes that hold spherical pieces. Each player controls one larger Guard and five pairs of smaller Prisoner pieces; each pair is connected by a metal chain (two short chains and three long). Prisoners move by shifting up to the distance allowed by their chain while their paired partner remains stationary. Chains can cross to temporarily immobilize opposing Prisoners. The Guard moves one hex at a time in any axial direction; a player who cannot move their Guard on their turn loses.
