2026 · Abstract Strategy
Himizu
Two elemental spirits—Fire and Water—compete over control of a forest clearing. Players take turns moving their spirit pieces across a shared board, allocating up to three movement points per turn among their pieces and triggering terrain effects as pieces depart squares (for example, flames leave burnt terrain behind). Each spirit also uses a unique set of four powers that cost spirit stones. Stones spent are passed to the opponent and count differently depending on ownership, so players weigh using powers against empowering the other side. Fire aims to create and hold 16 burning/charred terrain tiles; Water wins by removing all flame figures or by preventing Fire’s goal through play until the end of round 10.

Played the final prototype a couple of years ago and the feelings were amazing. Easy rules but deep strategy. The kind of abstract games I really enjoy. The assimetry between both players are really well balanced. Can't wait to see the final result and enjoy the game at home. EDIT: After playing the retail version, the game is still awesome. Well balanced asymetric game. One of my 2p exclusive games. Absolutely recommended.
