Isaac

2011 · Abstract Strategy

Isaac

An abstract strategy game for two players, played on a 10×10 grid. In the placement phase, players add rectangular pieces to available spaces. During scoring, each player removes one of their pieces and scores its value multiplied by the number of pieces in its row or column. Removed pieces must be at least as long as that player’s longest previously removed piece. Players track their scores with counters placed on the board. A counter in the scored row or column doubles the points, while scoring fewer points than earned can position the counter more advantageously.
