Mana

Capture the opposing daimio in this chess-like abstract strategy game. Each player controls one daimio and five ronin on a 6x6 board, moving pieces orthogonally according to the number of markings on their starting square. Pieces cannot pass through others and capture opposing pieces by ending their movement on them. After each move, the neutral mana bird moves to an unoccupied square with the same number of markings as the space just reached. This determines the starting space and movement distance for the next player. When no suitable piece is available, a captured ronin may be reintroduced or another piece may move under the fallback rules. The first player to capture the opposing daimio wins.
