Poleana
A dice-rolling race game that became popular in Mexican prisons, where players move pieces around a numbered board in a metaphor for prison life and the pursuit of freedom. Four players, divided into opposing pairs, each control four colored pieces and use two dice to release pieces from “jail,” advance them around the board, and send opposing pieces back to jail by landing on their spaces. Players can divide dice results between pieces or use their combined total, while rolling sixes allows additional releases. The first player to move all four pieces into the matching exit zone wins.
