Siesta

1999 · Abstract Strategy

Siesta

Suns hit roofs and create shaded siesta spots in this abstract pattern-building game. Players place Roofs, Suns, and Shadows to form scoring combinations, earning points when a Sun casts a Shadow across a Roof. Each turn, three pieces are placed in any combination, with at least one point scored. Shadows can score multiple times when surrounded by several Roof-and-Sun combinations. The game ends when a player runs out of Roofs or when the last Sun or Shadow is placed.

The game often ends up being played symmetrically, but it's fun and entertaining - and looks fantastic.
