2015 · Card Game
Seas of Strife
Players try to avoid taking tricks in a trick-taking game where suits can shift during play. All cards are dealt evenly. The lead player plays a single card, and subsequent players must follow that suit if able; a player who cannot follow may play any color. Once an off-suit color is played, later players may follow either of the colors already present (or a third if they have neither). After all cards for the trick are played, the color played most often determines which suit wins, and the highest card of that color takes the trick. Rounds continue until a player reaches the target number of tricks; the player with the fewest tricks captured wins.
