The River
Players act as rival town mayors developing land along a river by placing tiles, collecting local resources, and constructing buildings. Workers settle into the growing community as the game progresses, shifting available actions and influencing future planning. Gameplay focuses on spatial tile placement and resource management to shape organized landscapes and expand the settlement. Victory goes to the player whose development yields the highest score at the end of the game.

Evan5.0 Played this with one of my 5 year old boys. It's a very basic get resources, spend the resources on buildings, try and get your columns of tiles to be of the same type. It uses worker placement which was a mechanism that my son had trouble getting used to. I thought he'd like it because the core of what you are doing is the same as another game he really enjoys, The Grimm Forest but gets upset at the 'take-that' elements. Unfortunately the bland theme in the River did nothing for him, and he didn't want to play through the whole thing. This game is far too basic to take it out with an adult playgroup. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ☆ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ☆ Multiple plays stay interesting ★ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★★☆☆☆ Raw enjoyment
