Almoravid: Reconquista and Riposte in Spain 1085-1086

A simulation of the 1085–1086 Reconquista campaigns in Iberia, focusing on Leonese advances against taifa states and the subsequent Almoravid intervention from North Africa. Players levy and equip lords and vassals every 40 days, assemble forces with transport, provender and coin, and commit those lords to timed campaigns. Command cards and a feudal calendar constrain activation and length of service, while mats and wooden pieces represent knights, sergeants, horse and foot, militia and support assets. Armies maneuver on the map and resolve field battles or sieges by arranging formations and resolving combat outcomes. Event and capability cards introduce period technologies and cultural factors that affect levy, campaigning and fighting. Solitaire and hidden-levy options are included.
