Heaven Over the Castro

Set in 1980s San Francisco, this story-driven roleplaying game follows eight people exploring queerness, spirituality, prayer, faith, flesh, and friendship. A defrocked priest meets a young man who believes he is chosen by God, an aging drag queen tries to become a better father, and a Spirit of Lights walks the streets spreading love and passion. The story unfolds through intersecting storylines and improbable meetings. Players act and speak as their characters in two-person scenes, most of which take place simultaneously at separate tables, combining elements of a LARP and a tabletop RPG. Fantastic visions and bittersweet connections shape the narrative.
