Islebound: Emerald Edition

A revised edition of the base game replaces the book resource with emeralds and adjusts the building deck and some rules accordingly. Players sail between islands, recruit crew, visit and conquer towns, collect emeralds from player-owned towns and conquered locations, and use emeralds to buy building cards or pay for special abilities during play. Combat with pirates and serpents, town control, ship upgrades and engine-building via buildings remain central, while the building deck integrates altered cards from the original set and elements of the Metropolis expansion; the Metropolis expansion itself is not compatible with this edition. Some components have alternate uses outside the game: the backs of the crew tiles fit with Above and Below.
