La Bataille d'Espagnol-Talavera

A simulation of the culminating battle of Wellesley’s 1809 counter-offensive, pitting the English and Spanish armies against King Joseph Napoleon’s multinational Army of Spain. The battle is played across four period-style maps with a hexagonal grid, where each hex represents approximately 100 meters. More than 700 counters represent infantry battalions and regiments, cavalry regiments, artillery batteries, and leaders. Units are rated for strength, morale, movement, combat abilities, and range. Each turn covers 20 minutes, with rules addressing Napoleonic formations, fire, melee, command, and features specific to the Spanish Campaign of 1809. The system supports solitaire study or team play.
