Lines of Action

Players move their checkers-style pieces on an 8×8 board with the goal of forming a single connected group. Each turn a piece moves exactly as many spaces as there are pieces along the chosen line (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal), jumping over or landing on intervening squares according to the movement rules. Connections count orthogonal and diagonal adjacency, and play continues until one player’s pieces form an unbroken chain of adjacent spaces. The game relies on spatial planning and counting to bring dispersed pieces together while blocking the opponent’s connections.
