Eastern Romans and Seljuk Turks clash across Anatolia in the years leading up to the Battle of Manzikert. Players command one of the two powers, managing medieval logistics and maneuver while pursuing asymmetric objectives. Seljuk forces use fast mounted archers, raiding parties, and allied lords to ravage Roman lands and besiege towns. Roman armies rely on heavily armored infantry and cavalry, along with limited frontier garrisons to defend cities and supply routes. Political intrigue, shifting alliances, and the threat of betrayal shape the campaign before its climactic battle.
