Players compete to become the next Chancellor of a prestigious university of magic by building influence, recruiting apprentices, and casting spells. Each round involves placing workers to gain resources, develop engine-building synergies, and manipulate a small, secretive Consortium of influential board members whose votes determine the winner. Victory conditions are partly secret and shift between games, so players must deduce opponents’ goals while timing spells and actions to disrupt rival plans. The game emphasizes strategic planning, player interaction, and evolving tactics with minimal luck.
