Gate

A solo tower-defense game that casts the player as leader of a besieged medieval town, managing the gate, tower and farm while a swarm of creatures attacks from the forest. Players use a deck-building system: begin with a small starting set of cards and recruit townsfolk with distinct abilities to strengthen the defense. Enemies arrive in escalating waves, and players allocate resources to combat, repair structures and upgrade their command. Fear levels among the population also rise; the game ends in defeat if the gate falls or fear becomes unmanageable, and succeeds if the town holds out through the onslaught.
