Players run a large estancia in late-19th-century Argentina and drive cattle across the Pampas to deliver them at the central train station in Buenos Aires. Gameplay mixes deck management, a rondel action wheel, and player-board upgrades with new twists: a farmer worker type, grain as a resource, cow card strengths that can aid farmers, and exhaustion cards that affect card cycles. Players choose routes on the board that trade access to action buildings for shortcuts to the city, time deliveries to catch departing ships, and use port tiles for bonuses. The game also streamlines income while increasing strategic choices and includes a solo scenario with a preset opponent score to beat.

It clicked on me harder than the original. I consider this a big improvement from the base game, although it must be harder to play with newbies. Everything that changed adds some more interesting ideas. I feel like the most important thing to do still is to get cattle and send it (this time overseas), but through this path you have more options, decisions and farmers to get help from! I've seen multiple paths to victory and different and funny strategies that overall work well. It is a Vanilla GWT killer for me. It excells just like Maracaibo. One of the best ever eurogame designs for me. I think I will never get tired of it!

Plays completely different from the original which is good. Usability suffers as in original 2nd Ed.

Do empty trail spaces count as locations when I move, and how do I count steps?

Empty spaces are NOT locations; only tiles (building or farmer) and Buenos Aires are locations, and each location you pass or land on counts as one step, with your movement limited by your current step limit (you must move at least one step). (page 7)

I pass a tile with a hand icon but don't have enough pesos — do I have to stop or can I keep moving?

You are allowed to continue moving even if you cannot fully pay hand fees; pay as much as you can for hands you pass or land on and continue, and you never pay those fees retroactively later. (page 7)

When I reveal my hand for income, do duplicate cattle types count multiple times?

No — for income you sum the breeding values of each different cattle type in your hand, counting each type only once regardless of duplicates, then optionally add certificates before taking that many pesos. (page 9)

Can I choose any ship to load, and what happens if I don't have enough grain for the ship?

You may choose a ship whose loading value is less than or equal to your total breeding value (with exceptions for the 0 and 18 ships), and if you have less grain than required you load what you have and pay 2 pesos per missing grain to the bank. (page 10)

Do the corner colors on my disc spaces affect which ship spaces I can place discs from?

Yes — a disc taken from a white-corner space can be placed on any ship space, but a disc from a dark-corner space may only be placed on ship spaces that also have dark corners. (page 10)

What happens to exhaustion cards in my hand during the Income subphase — do they get discarded with my cattle?

Exhaustion cards in your hand are not discarded to your discard pile; during Income you must immediately return any exhaustion cards to the exhaustion stack, and only then discard the remaining hand cards. (page 9)
