Storm Over Dien Bien Phu

A two-player operational wargame recreating the 1954 battle around an isolated fortified French base in northwestern Indochina. One player commands French paratroopers and legion units manning discrete strongpoints; the other fields Viet Minh forces encircling and assaulting the positions with Chinese support and artillery. Play uses an area-movement map, weekly turns, and infantry platoon/company counters. A card-driven system augments movement and operations, while rules cover sapping, assaults, French supply shortages, and specific historical events represented by unique cards. Plays in up to three hours and is presented at a low complexity level.
