The Hell of Stalingrad

Card-driven simulation of the brutal urban campaign that marked a turning point in the Eastern Front. Players assume opposing commanders and commit division formations and battalion units to fight over a map built from Building Cards representing real Stalingrad locations such as the Grain Elevator, Traktor Factory and Pavlov’s House. Combat and bombardment produce fires and ruins that change tactical options, while Formation and Campaign cards introduce historical doctrines, reinforcements and strategic events. One side fields disciplined German veterans, panzer units and specialist assault teams aiming to reach the Volga; the other must hold the city with improvised Soviet forces, reinforcements crossing under air attack and named hero units that can sway individual battles.
