The Transcontinental

Players act as contractors building a national transcontinental railway across 19th-century Canada, competing to link eastern provinces with the western frontier. On a linear worker-placement track players send telegrams to reserve action spaces and then take turns in that telegram order. A shared train moves across the map; players load and unload goods to fulfill delivery demands and gather resources. Resources fund developments such as lumber mills, farms, cities, and parks, or are spent in auctions to extend the railway. One-shot ally cards based on historical figures enable powerful combined actions and strategic combos.
