7 Wonders: Architects

Players each receive an unbuilt wonder and race to complete its stages while developing a city across several rounds. On each turn players gather resources, play building cards for civil, scientific, commercial, or military effects, and manage conflicts with neighbors. Progress on wonder stages grants immediate benefits and endgame points, and games end when a player finishes their final stage or after the draft deck is exhausted. The game emphasizes resource management, tableau building, and timing rather than pure speed; military and science tracks, plus civic structures, all contribute to final scoring.

If I have enough resources to build a Wonder stage, can I wait and build it later?

No. If you have the resources to build an available stage, you must build it during your turn; if you can build multiple stages that turn, you must build them all. (pp. 3–4)

Can I use Coins to pay for any resource, and do I keep them after building?

Coins are wild resources: they replace any missing resource needed for a stage. Discard the Grey and/or Yellow cards used to pay for the stage. (p. 3)

Do I have to build my Wonder stages in order?

Yes. Build from the bottom up, and a stage is available only when all stages below it are constructed. Some Wonders allow an option in the order of construction. (p. 3)

When do I get a Progress token, and do I have to take one if I qualify?

If you have 2 identical or 3 different Science symbols, you must take a Progress token during your turn. Discard the Green cards used, then choose from the three faceup tokens or the top token of the facedown stack. (p. 4)

When does a Battle happen, and who do I compare my Shields with?

A Battle is triggered when the last Conflict token is flipped to its Battle side, and it resolves at the end of that turn. Compare your Shields with each of your two neighbors; you gain 1 Military Victory token for each neighbor you have more Shields than. (p. 4)

Does the game end as soon as someone finishes their Wonder?

The game ends at the end of that player’s turn, not immediately when the final stage is built. Then players add up their Victory points; the highest score wins. (p. 1)
