A Wager for Might

A system-neutral, one-page dungeon adventure set in a strange demiplane. The characters seek an ancient arcane device created by the mage Itharion, which can draw energy and lifeforce from extraplanar beings and infuse it into a mortal. The Crucible can be used only once each year and lies beyond deadly traps and immortal guardians. Reaching the final chamber gives the characters a chance to operate the machine and gain great power, but the process is dangerous and may fundamentally alter or kill them. The adventure is designed for use in medieval fantasy settings and can be adapted to any game system.
