Ascendancy: Underworld

Players lead one of six asymmetric noble houses vying for the crown by expanding influence across a changing world where leylines open and entrances to the Underworld appear. Each house follows distinct strategies—religious enforcement and judgment from above, violent conquest and necromancy, economic manipulation, territorial expansion, or battlefield domination—over multi-generation campaigns or single scenarios. Gameplay combines area control, asymmetric powers, economy management, and scenario-driven objectives, with support for up to six players and an optional large map. New houses and dynamic dungeon locations alter strategic choices, making each playthrough present different paths to victory.
