Bloc by Bloc: The Insurrection Game

Players each control an urban faction of revolutionaries—Workers, Students, Neighbors, or Prisoners—operating in a procedurally generated city map. Play proceeds over a series of nights, with each night split into a Nighttime phase where players take turns using dice to perform actions (move, barricade, occupy, attack, loot, etc.) and trigger a police response, and a Sunrise phase where police forces advance and districts can be liberated. Factions build occupations across districts, manage loot and barricades, and clash with riot police and the State. The game is semi-cooperative: most factions share social objectives and must coordinate to win, while some secret agendas create asymmetric, potentially solo victory paths. Hidden agendas, asymmetric abilities, area control, and evolving police morale drive strategy and tension.
