Death & Taxes

An adventure for four to five 6th-level Pathfinder or 3.5-compatible characters, set during tax season in the Free City of Hordenheim. After a wave of thefts leaves citizens unable to pay, the party is hired as tax inspectors to restore order and recover funds for the treasury. They contend with tax dodgers, a near-riotous monstrous population, and a necromancer sheriff while investigating the thefts and surviving the city’s unrest. The adventure includes an overview of Hordenheim and its unusual inhabitants, two new magical items, and a Pathfinder interpretation of the angry mob.
