Dwarven Stronghold

A multi-level dwarven fortress built inside a mountain guards a subterranean river and a raising bridge that can be lowered beneath a mountain lake. The stronghold includes barracks, prisons, forges, shrines, noble halls, an arena, temples, crypts, and a dam level with the bridge controls. The adventurers must cross the mountain by moving through the fortress, which may be occupied by orcs, threatened by a creature from the underground river, or overrun by an infected dwarven garrison serving a vampire lord. They navigate guarded stairways and defensive positions while investigating the stronghold and attempting to operate its machinery.
