The book includes authentic naval wargame rules, ship forms, tables, and scenarios for refighting the historical battles and exploring alternative engagements. Scenarios cover Coronel, the Cocos Islands, and possible encounters involving ships such as HMAS Australia, HMS Canopus, and HMS Defence. A separate fast-play ruleset provides a simpler way to recreate the battles.
