Fun game where you are timed to create the best possible spaceship and then use zen-like calm when random effects blow your ship to smithereens. This game would probably be too random for me if I didn't take some degree of child-like glee imagining bits of my ship float away after being struck by a meteor. I'd recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed as a kid, making complicated lego models and then having them battle and knocking them apart. This game is fun using the base tiles but really shines when you add in the expansion tiles. There is a lot of extra luck mitigation and silliness that gets added. The one thing that is completely unclear is one of the expansions adds aliens who walk around your ship and mess stuff up. These aliens have movement rules that aren't clearly explained. We figured it out eventually, but the icon for the direction they turn could have been so much clearer. Ultimately I've decided to just not play with these guys, nor the upgrades that explode after a single use. This helps to simplify the massive number of upgrade tiles and makes the game a little smoother. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ★ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ★ Multiple plays stay interesting ☆ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★★★☆☆ Raw enjoyment
