Players take on the role of traditional Japanese painters assembling an emakimono handscroll by arranging and collecting vibrant paint pots from a shared central mat. On each turn, players may swap adjacent pots to set up moves, then take one or more contiguous pots of the same color in a row or column. Collected pots drop to the lowest available space on a personal board, forcing spatial planning and anticipating gravity effects. If more than four pots remain visible, excess convert to non-scoring Cloud tiles. Completed patterns are replaced by Artwork tiles for points; secret Masterpiece cards and rotating public goal sheets offer additional scoring. The game ends when a player fills their board, triggering final scoring.
