Mercatores

Mercatores is a board game for 2–4 players. It plays in 15–45 minutes and is meant for ages 10 and up. Ludoya players call it best with 3.

Players take the roles of merchants supplying Europe with goods from the New World, including tobacco, corn, cotton, cocoa, and coffee. During the investment phase, players exchange cards from their hands for goods in the central market, then play cards as sets of one good, pairs of different goods, or special cards. When a player places a thirteenth card, the remaining players take one final round. In the profit phase, players sell their goods and resolve special cards such as warehouses and ports. The player with the most points wins.
