Players take the roles of over-the-top Elizabethan adventurers who gather gear, backstab rivals, and defeat absurd foes drawn from a theatrical version of 16th–17th century England. The game uses card-driven encounters, equipment and class/role cards, and a mechanic for expanding character levels through combat and card play. Turns involve playing or drawing cards, using items and special abilities, and negotiating or interfering with other players’ battles to gain advantage.
