This strategic campaign recreates the 1776 struggle around New York City, where a newly formed American army faces British and Hessian forces supported by a large fleet. Players maneuver wooden blocks through connected land and water zones, using commanders to move groups and carrying out battles on a separate battle board, with blocks concealing troop information. The British seek to capture Washington or destroy his army while holding New York City at the end of the game. The Americans win by avoiding these conditions or reducing the British army below 20 strength points.
