Players inhabit a collapsing Southern Gothic tale and the fractured mind of its author, alternating between playing characters inside the novel and personified aspects of the writer himself. Through a mix of role assignment, scene prompts and colored lenses that obscure or reveal information, players enact episodes of mania, depression and drug-altered apathy as the group negotiates how the story unfolds. Turn structure shifts perspective between in-world interactions and meta-level debates, with players using revealed prompts and hidden cues to influence outcomes and reach a narrative balance among The Ass, The Angel and the author's selves.
