Puerto Diablo

Set in the Caribbean in 1663, the game follows people seeking power and wealth while the colonial nations establish themselves across the islands. Players begin with decks of characters and skills, improving them as they face challenges and develop specializations. Many challenges require cooperation, but alliances are temporary and betrayal can change the outcome. Players discuss who will contribute, while action cards can be played at any time. The first half focuses on developing each deck; later, players buy victory points based on experience in the game’s eight specializations. There are no player turns, so actions occur whenever players choose.
