Rome: City of Marble

The look of this game really appeals to me. Placing these oddly shaped tiles representing densely populated areas in the city. The thrill and fault of this game comes from the way every move you make develops the board for your opponents. You do your best to not make too sweet a spot for them, while trying to get the maximum points yourself. It's cute, but it suffers from a lack of predictability in board state, and also often times I found myself with several equivalent moves, with no reason to chose one over the other. Overall the game is good, but it could have been a lot better if there was just a little more to it. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ☆ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ★ Multiple plays stay interesting ★ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★☆☆☆☆ Raw enjoyment
