Screaming Skull

This immobile magical guardian resembles a humanoid skull with a gemstone set into each eye socket. Created to protect a specific object or area, it alerts nearby creatures with a hellish scream when a living creature comes within 40 feet and continues attacking until destroyed or its foes leave. If its creator dies or it can no longer fulfill its commands, the magic fades and it becomes an ordinary skull; the valuable gemstones can be removed from a destroyed skull with a successful DC 20 Strength check.
