Solstis

Players travel a mountain valley to collect and place landscape tiles, reconstructing mountain scenes and scoring points by completing features and lighting peak fires. Tiles are taken using row-and-column capture mechanics inspired by hanafuda: choose tiles from shared columns or rows and add them to a personal landscape, aiming to combine pieces into coherent patterns while denying useful tiles to opponents. Forming specific tile squares captures forest spirits that grant immediate or endgame bonuses. Rounds are quick to set up and play, with a calm, tactical focus suitable for mixed-age groups.

أسئلة القواعد

إجابات من كتيّب القواعد يقدمها مساعد القواعد في Ludoya.

If I can capture from the display, do I have to capture — and can I capture more than one tile?

If the tile you played lets you capture one or more display tiles, you MUST capture exactly one of them; take both the tile you played and the captured tile and place them in front of you to build your panorama (and flip any face‑down tile beneath the captured tile). (page 1)

What exactly happens with a Second Chance — do I keep drawing until I can capture?

If the tile you played captures nothing, add it to the display and draw a tile from the Land pile (Second Chance); if that new tile still captures nothing, add it and flip any face‑down tile beneath it, and repeat until you either can capture or no further tiles are revealed. (page 1)

When and how do I place a Rainbow tile, and what means "blocked" vs "free"?

When the tile you draw on your Second Chance still lets you capture nothing, you add it to the display and take a Rainbow tile to place orthogonally adjacent to a Land tile in your panorama; later, if you pick up the Land tile that should go where the Rainbow is, a Rainbow "blocked" by a Spirit stays in place and the corresponding Land tile is removed from the game, while a "free" Rainbow is moved elsewhere and the Land tile is placed where the Rainbow was. (page 2)

When do Spirit effects trigger — right away or only at scoring?

Spirit tiles with a plain background have effects that trigger immediately when you pick them up, whereas Spirits on a blue background only trigger their effects at the end of the game. (page 2)

What does the Evil Spirit do — how is it passed and how does it affect scoring?

When you pick the Evil Spirit you must keep it and the other Spirit you drew; place the Evil Spirit in front of you and then pass it to the next player who encounters a Spirit (it can be passed back later); at the end the player holding the Evil Spirit must place it on one of their own Spirits (chosen by the opponent) and the covered Spirit plus the Evil Spirit score 0★. (page 2)

When the Land draw pile runs out, can we still take turns and draw tiles?

Once the Land pile is empty you keep taking turns but you no longer draw to replenish hands — you may only play if you can capture a tile from the display with a tile in your hand, otherwise you skip your turn; the game ends when neither player can capture. (page 2)
