Sophonisba and the Battle of the Great Plains: Africa – Territory of Carthage: SPQR Battle Module

An expansion module for SPQR in GMT Games’ Great Battles of History series, this tactical simulation depicts the Battle of the Great Plains during the late Second Punic War. Scipio’s Roman army faces a combined Carthaginian and Numidian force led by Hasdrubal and King Syphax in North Africa. The scenario uses the SPQR Second Edition rules and requires the Cannae map, along with counters from SPQR and the module sheet included in C3i #4. Sophonisba’s marriage to Syphax forms part of the political context surrounding the battle and Numidian allegiance.
