The Depths of Durangrar

Players take the roles of flashlight-bearing explorers navigating a three-dimensional, partially dark maze to recover treasure and carry it back to the entrance. Explorers illuminate only the spaces in front of them while a hidden monster player, using night-vision, moves unseen through the dark. Play uses action points to rotate, move, pick up gold, use items and abilities, attack, and interact with the maze. Explorers have distinct roles: a high-mobility Scout, a damage-resistant Knight, and a Demolitionist who can permanently remove walls. Monster types have different tricks—jumping ambushes, temporary wall construction, or environmental traps—while cooperation between explorers invites both protection and the possibility of betrayal over collected treasure.
