The Truceless War: Hamilcar Barca Puts Down a Mercenary Revolt

This expansion for SPQR covers the Mercenary War in Carthage after the First Punic War. Unpaid mercenaries, joined by heavily taxed rural communities, revolt against the Carthaginian government, and Hamilcar Barca takes command after Hanno fails to suppress the rebellion. It includes four battles—Utica, Hippacritae, Tunis, and Leptis—presented as SPQR scenarios. Players command the opposing forces through these engagements as the Carthaginian army attempts to crush the insurrection.
