Valley of Crackling Snow (Pathfinder)

An alpine valley between two abandoned mines crackles with strange electrical sounds, while arcs of light and miniature suns appear across the sky. Copper runoff from one mine stains the frozen creek and surrounding snow, creating a bizarre geological phenomenon in an otherwise ordinary landscape. This flexible encounter suits adventurers from 1st to 12th level and can be placed in any arctic or subarctic region. Characters investigate the source of the lights and sounds, contend with mutated wildlife, and decide whether to study the phenomenon, tame its creatures, or repair the damage electricity has caused to the valley.
