Whimsy Cards

A deck of illustrated cards lets players intervene in an ongoing adventure and add to its story. Each card presents a different type of intervention, guided by a title and brief description while leaving much of its interpretation to the player. Players begin with one or more cards and play them to aid the group, introduce details, or complicate the troupe’s task. Helpful cards are usually not replaced, while cards that expand the storyline or create difficulties may earn one or two replacements. Players can veto effects on their characters, and the GM can veto any card use.
