Court of the Dead: Mourners Call

Players take the roles of Mourners, allegiants of Death, vying to shape the Underworld’s future by advancing three factions: Bone, Flesh, and Spirit. Through card play, area control, and influence management, players place agents in faction strongholds and guilds to gather power and Etherea, a resource tied to mortal souls. Players must balance cooperative goals—building enough collective strength to challenge the celestials—with hidden individual objectives. Mismanaging Etherea or triggering the Dreadsgrip carries severe penalties, so decisions about where to invest influence and when to pursue personal aims are central to play. The winner is the Mourner who best contributes to the Underworld’s aims while achieving their private victory condition.
