Overlord

An operational wargame simulating the Allied invasion and breakout from the Normandy peninsula in June–August 1944. Players command Allied or German forces through the distinct phases of the campaign: the initial invasion and consolidation, the Cobra breakout, the German Mortain counteroffensive, and the Battle of the Falaise Pocket. Gameplay focuses on maneuver, timing, supply and combined-arms combat as Allies race to clear Normandy and Germans attempt delaying defenses and counterattacks. Scenarios include separate one-month recreations of each period as well as a linked full-campaign option; each scenario specifies historical setups and victory conditions for both sides.
