D-Day Playa de Omaha

Simulates the US landings and struggle to establish a beachhead along the five-mile Omaha sector on D-Day. The player commands company-level US infantry, engineers, amphibious tanks and supporting arms as they assault the beach, clear obstacles and push inland against hidden German Widerstandsnest defenses. Play covers the entire first day with 15-minute turns during the initial landings and 30-minute turns later. A card deck handles landing results, events and the activation/firing of German positions while rules govern amphibious movement, German fields of fire, artillery, tides, leadership and initiative. Components include a large hex map, numerous counters and a solitaire game system for the German defenders.
